IGN's Second Impessions 6.8/10

IGN has given Hellgate: London a second look over (after the first impressions), and has a quite harsh opinion on the game in the end. I hardly agree on many of these grades they have given it, but I do know that the game needed some more polish before release. Unfortunately, you don't get a "second release", the game probably won't have another shot at getting good reviews. Here is IGN's opinions:

Presentation 7.0
A credible attempt to recast Diablo for the next generation but some of the new ideas just don't work.

Graphics 7.5
Full of moody atmosphere and inventive monster designs. Animation leaves a bit to be desired.

Sound 7.0
Voice work and effects just do enough to get by. A few actors help to rescue the rest of the cast.

Gameplay 6.0
The drive to get new items is about the only reward worth pursuing here. Monsters are more exciting than the players.

Lasting Appeal 6.5
It's fun for a week or so, but the lack of variety in the combat and the haphazard level design starts to get old fast.
