Sell Hgl palladium and IGN's First Impressions

This came in on Friday, IGN's first impressions of Hellgate: London. I would suspect we will see a review coming up soon enough. Here is a snippet:

And the "some reason or other" really doesn't matter. One of the problems though is that the story isn't really told through the game as much as it is told around the game. While I certainly don't think that a more action-oriented game like this should have the same depth of storytelling as other RPGs, it's a shame that the story wasn't incorporated more into the events of the game. Sure, there are exceptions -- having to chase down the Tech or collecting various body parts actually helps the player feel like they're making a real contribution within the plot -- but most of the time you're just hacking away at the monsters with no context beyond the one-line description in your quest tracker.

For some players, this won't be a big deal. They love just jumping in and stabbing things and they don't need any further justification than that. Fortunately, Hellgate provides no shortage of ghoulies, ghosties and long-leggedy beasties for you to swat with your sword or sear with your spells. Every single game area is teeming with monsters so you won't have to waste any time hunting for them. The monsters are relatively inventive but still stick to some familiar stereotypes -- fat zombies, floating eyeballs, big brains, etc.
